Overview
Wicked musical is a musical adaption from the critically acclaimed novel “Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West” written by Gregory Maguire in 1995. The original music and lyrics was composed by the Grammy Award winner music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz.
The longest running Broadway musical tells the hidden story of friendship between two girls Elphaba and Glinda, who first met as sorcery students ignorant of what fate has decided for them.
Story
Wicked’s official story starts at the Shiz University where two girls Elphaba and Glinda come to study and share the same room against their will but soon share a true friendship bond. Galinda is confident and popular while Elphaba’s life is disturbed by his father behavior but she has extra ordinary sorcery skills.
Wicked story has all real life elements such as Politics, Friendship and Romance, Jealous and Revenge and like other factious stories all characters live happily when Elphaba marries his love and becomes the Wicked Witch of the West and Galinda becomes the Good Witch of the North.
Main Cast
The current main cast of Broadway Wicked features Laura Woyasz as Glinda (will resume role on April, 2011), Teal Wicks as Elphaba, Kathy Fitzgerald as the School Principal Madame Morrible, Richard H. Blake as the Elphaba love interest Fiyero, Jenny Fellner as Elphaba disabled sister Nessarose and Michael DeVries as Elphaba heartless father.
